Lighting Overview
- In the last 40 years, much advancement has been made in the area of lighting technology. Workspaces of the 1960's and 70's were designed around the belief that more light leads to better visual performance. Thus, they typically provided more light than the job required with little or no flexibility for the user. The result was wasted energy and a variety of human-factors issues such as eyestrain and headaches, which impacted productivity. New Scientific research and enhanced technologies have provided designers with smarter solutions. Unfortunetly, many offices continue to use dated technology to illuminate workspaces.
